Installation Overview

  1. Determine Handing: Determine the hand of the door (LHRB/RHRB) and prepare the inside face of the Lock Stile and Hinge Stile.
  2. Insert Concealed Vertical Rod: Insert the Concealed Vertical Rod assembly into the Lock Stile and secure the center case assembly with Hex Mounting Studs.
  3. Adjust Actuating Bolts & Rods: Adjust the length of the top and bottom Actuating Bolts by turning them in or out. When the Push Bar is fully depressed and locked (dogged), the bolts should sit flush with the top and bottom door edges. Install the top and bottom Bolt Guides with screws.
CRITICAL NOTE: The Large Bevel of the Actuating Bolts must face the inside and outside of the stile respectively.
  4. Measure & Cut Panic Device Length: Measure the distance between the mounting holes from the Lock Stile to the Hinge Stile, and mark it on the back of the device to prepare for cutting. Stuff a rag in the rail before cutting to protect the mechanism from metal chips.
  5. Pre-Mount Hinge Side: Drill clearance holes in the Hinge End of the Back Channel. Attach the Hinge End of the device and its Mounting Bracket LOOSELY onto the Hinge Stile using the provided screws, lock washers, and flat washers.
  6. Mount Lock Side & Align Link: Position the Latch End of the device over the Hex Mounting Studs on the Lock Stile, and secure it with Hex Nuts and Lock Washers. Fully tighten the screws on the Hinge End Mounting Bracket. Insert the operating crank into the Latch End Housing, ensuring the Link fits smoothly over the end pin, then secure and tighten the screw.
  7. Attach End Covers: Secure the Latch End Cover and Hinge End Cover to the main assembly using Flat Head Thread Cutting Machine Screws.
  8. Install Strikes: Prepare the Header and Threshold locations, then install the top and bottom strikes using the provided screws.
  9. Final Test: Verify egress function and set dogging by turning the hex key 1/2 turn clockwise.
