Installation Overview

  1. Preparation: Verify door dimensions and mark the mounting height at 39-17/32” from the floor to the centerline.
  2. Sizing: Measure the distance between mounting holes and add 7/8” for the correct panic length. Stuff a rag in the rail before cutting to protect the mechanism from metal chips.
  3. Mounting: Secure the mounting studs and the exit device body.
  4. Strike Alignment: Install the strike on the door jamb. Use the provided dual-thickness spacers (1/8” or 1/16”) to ensure the latch engages perfectly with the frame stop.
  5. Final Test: Verify egress function and set dogging by turning the hex key 1/2 turn clockwise.

Operating Instructions

  • To Unlock Door Using Cylinder Key:
    Turn key approximately 1/4 turn in either direction and open door, return key to center and remove. (NOTE: Cylinder Key WILL NOT dog unit. Dogging is from inside with Hex Dogging Key only.)
  • Dogging Using Dogging Key:
    Fully depress push bar and hold. Using Hex Dogging Key, push in Dogging Device and turn clockwise approximately 1/2 turn.
  • To Release Dogging:
    Hold touch bar down. Using Hex Dogging Key, push in Dogging Device and turn counterclockwise approximately 1/2 turn. Dogging will be released.
